The BAUER N24858 is a key componement of your lubricated rotary screw air compressor. The oil is injected with the intake air to seal the compressors screws with the chamber, lubricate bearings and remove heat of compression from the machine, after the air and oil mix is compressed by the screw a separator will filter the mix to reinjected the oil into the compression chamber and send the air downstream.
The air oil separator tank normally have a preliminary mechanical separator to remove most of the liquid oil, the element function is to capture the mist created by the flow and velocity of the mix getting into the tank.
Top hat style air oil separator are installed inside a separator tanks with a gasket and a grounding wire. They normally need to be change anywhere between 4000hrs and 8000hrs depending on the parts.
